Description

Questeds is a building located at 82 Canterbury Road in Westgate-on-Sea, dating from the 18th century or earlier, with a front elevation that was refronted around 1850. It is two storeys high and rendered, featuring a tiled roof with coping. The front has two canted bays that extend through both storeys, adorned with Italianate architraves. There is a portico supported by two Tuscan columns and two and a half columns. The rear elevation is made of brown brick and also two storeys high, with a tiled roof that includes four dormers and a brick modillion cornice. It has five sash windows set in moulded architraves, with the ground floor windows being cambered. There are one-storey extensions on either side of the building. The right side has an outside chimney stack with a base made of diapered flint and brick. Inside, there is one room with a beamed ceiling, which may be the remnants of an earlier timber-framed structure, and the front room features alcoves.
