Description

Homeside with railings to forecourt is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of Church Road in Luddenham and Oare. The building is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled roof. It has three storeys and a parapet above a hipped roof, with chimney stacks projecting at both the left and right ends. The facade includes three sash windows on the second and first floors and two on the ground floor, all with gauged heads. The central entrance has a boarded door topped by a semi-circular fanlight set in a gauged surround. Inside, there is a room adorned with French painted wallpaper, dated 1836, depicting scenes from the Conquest of Peru and the Telemachus legend. The forecourt is enclosed by cast iron railings, which feature fleur-de-lys and spearhead designs.
