Description
A G Smith and Sons Depository, located on Union Street in Blue Town, Sheerness, is a former Bethel Chapel dated 1787, marked by the initials W S in the datestone. The building is two storeys tall and constructed of red brick, featuring a parapet with stone coping. On the first floor, there are three windows, with the central window being a modified Venetian style that has had its glazing altered. Below this window is an inscription that reads "He shall establish his strength" along with a sundial displaying the initials BST. The ground floor includes two round-headed doorcases with keystones, and a central section with cambered windows also featuring keystones. The building has a mansard roof, which is currently covered with corrugated iron sheeting, and there are five cambered windows on the side elevation.
