Description

MAGDALEN GATE 1. 5266 (South Side) No 4 (Hedon and District Royal British Legion Headquarters and Club Ltd) TA 1828 NE 1/10 II 2. 1801. Former Baptist Chapel. Brown brick. Hipped pantile roof. One tall stack. Two doors, each with 6 fielded panels, blind semi-circular fanlight with intersecting glazing bars. Centre bay breaks forward slightly and has one round-arched sash with intersecting glazing bars. Oval ashlar plaque above window, inscribed "BUILT BY SUBSCRIPTION 1801. Christ is head over all things to the Church. Ephs. Ch.1.v.22. Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matt: Ch.xviii.v.20."
