Description
No. 8 Market Place is a mid-19th century building constructed of brown brick and standing three storeys tall. The roof is concealed by a stuccoed parapet that features anthemion decoration at the corners. The front has a single range of sash windows with glazing bars, which are adorned with channelled stucco voussoirs and ornamented keystones. The shop front is contemporary, with a central window flanked by two doors that have reeded transoms, oblong fanlights, and glazing bars. The entrance is enhanced by moulded pilasters supporting scrolled and moulded consoles, and there is a modern fascia above.
