Description

No. 6 Market Place is a mid-19th century building constructed of brown brick and rising three storeys. The roof is concealed by a stuccoed parapet featuring anthemion decoration at the corners. The façade has one range of sash windows with glazing bars, which are adorned with channelled stucco voussoirs and ornamented keystones. The shop front is modern but retains the original doorway, which includes a reeded transom, an oblong fanlight, moulded pilasters, and moulded and scrolled consoles supporting the entablature.
