Description

Gardener's Cottage, located 100 yards north of Sharsted Court, is a cottage built in the late 19th century. It features a combination of red brick and timber framing with plaster infill, topped by a plain tiled roof. The cottage stands two storeys high and has an end jetty on the right side, with a bargeboarded gable on the left and double stacks at both the front and rear. On the first floor to the left, there is a mullioned window with a balcony, supported by attached shafts that rise through both storeys, and below it, a mullioned oriel window on brackets. To the right, there is a boarded door with a pendant and a bargeboard gabled porch. An oriel window is also present on the right return front. The cottage is included for its group value with Sharsted Court and the stables.
