Description
This is an 18th-century range of cottages located on the south side of Ospringe Street. The building comprises numbers 5 to 9, with each cottage originally having one window, except for number 9, which features two windows and effectively forms two separate cottages. The cottages have tiled, hip roofs and red brick stacks. Numbers 5 and 9 have painted brickwork, while number 7 has been stuccoed. Number 5 is slightly set back from the street. The ground floor of number 5 has been rebuilt and features an early 19th-century segmental bowed window with three panes of glass and glazing bars. Number 9 has a segmental bowed ground floor window where the original horizontal glazing bars have been removed, and the ground floor sliding sash window has been replaced. Number 7 has casement windows on the first floor, with leaded lights. Both numbers 5 and 7 have segmental arched doorways. A doorway from a former cottage is incorporated into number 9. Number 7 also has a ground floor entrance for goods and a loft door on the first floor. Numbers 1 to 19 (odd) are designated as a group.
