Description

Dale Farmhouse comprises a 16th-century and an early 19th-century structure. The house is composed of two ranges arranged in parallel. The front wing is of red brick with a plain tiled roof and a hipped roof incorporating a central stack. It has two wooden casement windows on each floor, each with painted gauged heads. A formerly round-headed doorway to the left of the front elevation is now accessed via a half-glazed door within a hipped porch on the left return. The rear wing is timber-framed and partially underbuilt with red brick. Some of the timber framing is exposed, showcasing close studding and jetties, while other sections have plaster infill and weatherboarding. The rear wing's roof is covered with plain tiles. The right return of the rear wing displays the exposed close studded and jettied timber frame.
