Description

Neptune Terrace is an early 19th-century terrace located on the north side of Marine Parade in Sheerness. It is two storeys high and features a cement-rendered facade. The terrace has three pedimented projections: one in the center and two at the ends. The central pediment includes a niche with a statue of Neptune standing on the head of a sea monster, while the side pediments contain niches adorned with cement shell and rock ornaments. There are a total of 20 sash windows throughout the building. The entrance doors are framed with stucco architraves and archivolts, featuring enriched keystones that depict mermen holding a cornucopia. The pilasters have capitals that showcase mermaids riding sea horses. The roofs are slate, and there are cast iron spear rails in front of the areas. The rear elevation has a roof characterized by a series of hips.
