Description

This is a 17th-century or earlier house, which has a brick front dating to the 18th century. It has been divided into two separate dwellings. The building is two storeys high with a three-window facade. It has a high-pitched tiled roof, hipped on the left side and half-hipped on the right, with an old ridge stack. The brickwork is painted and features a first-floor band and a stone plinth. The windows are three-light casements. Modern doors are set within stout, moulded frames. Number 223 has external louvred shutters and a 19th-century canted bay window.
