Description
The Rustic Stone Bridge, located in the woods to the southeast of Brasted Place, dates from around 1784 and is likely designed by Robert Adam. It features coursed rubble masonry and a barrel vault made of rough-hewn cyclopean stones, with additional rough stones along the hillside. The parapet on the north side rises to a peak in the center. This bridge spans a cattle track and is somewhat concealed by the surrounding overgrown plantation. A Saxon cross that was once mounted on the bridge is now part of the wall of a new chapel to the southwest of Brasted Place.
