Description

The Rose and Crown Public House, along with Crown Cottages (Nos 1 to 3), is a building from the second quarter of the 19th century. It is two storeys high and features six windows, with three serving the public house and one for each of the cottages. The structure is made from flint rubble with red brick dressings, which include alternating block quoins and vertical bands, as well as segmental arches over the doors and windows. The roof is fairly low pitched and covered with slate, featuring an eaves soffit. No 3 has been pebbledashed. The windows are recessed sash types with glazing bars set in stucco-lined reveals, except for No 3, which has modern ground floor windows. The doors are four-panel designs, with those of the public house having later wooden hoods added.
