Description

Widmore Farmhouse is a building dating from around 1700, likely incorporating an older framed structure. It features a symmetrical red brick elevation facing the road, with a central two-storey porch that projects outward. The building has a plinth and a band of brick, eaves, and a gutter, topped with a tile roof that has half-hipped ends and a central ridge stack. The porch also has a hip-tiled roof.

The farmhouse is two storeys tall and includes two small flat-roofed leaded dormers. On the ground floor, there are large sash windows on either side of the porch, each set under flat segmental brick arches with vertical glazing bars only. The front door, dating from the 19th century, is half glazed. On the first floor, there are wide 18th-century sash windows on either side of the porch, set in exposed frames with closely spaced glazing bars. Above the door, there is a small sash window in the centre and one on either side of the porch projection. The dormers feature casement windows, although some bars have been partly removed.
