Description
The almshouses located at the corner of Elliotts Farm Lane were built in 1833 and altered in 1897. This picturesque group is designed in the Tudor style and consists of one storey with an attic. The building features two bays facing the road and three bays in a symmetrical arrangement towards Elliotts Farm Lane. It has a tiled roof with half dormers that break the eaves, along with ornamental brick chimneys. The left side has a returned gable end, and the structure is made of coursed freestone. The windows are leaded casements, and the doors have four-centred heads with Tudor arched side lights, all of which are set beneath a hood mould. There is a gabled porch located below the gable end, and there are low extensions to the south.
