Description

Windmill House is an early 19th century building with stucco elevations of two storeys. It has projecting eaves and a Welsh slate roof, with one end hipped and a projecting gable end to the left, featuring ornamental painted bargeboards and a circular plaster medallion in the centre. The stucco facades have incised lines imitating stone courses, with a gable end projection to the left also featuring a circular plaster medallion and two tiers of ornamental flat pilasters at the corners. Continuous moulded plaster bands are stepped and raised over the windows on both floors. Sash windows are present throughout, with ground floor windows ornamented with Regency Gothic tracery. A central projecting glazed porch features rounded pilasters on either side of the outer door and an inner panelled door with a Regency Gothic tracery fanlight. Mouldings around the windows on both floors are picked out with ornamental plaster scroll brackets. The house has recently been well restored and painted, preserving its original Regency features.
