Description

26 and 28 Market Square is an early 18th century house that stands two storeys high with an attic and features five windows. It has a high-pitched, hipped tiled roof with three modern flat-headed dormers. The front of the building is now covered in stucco and includes a parapet with end pilasters topped with ball finials. The recessed sash windows, which have glazing bars, are adorned with stuccoed aprons. On the ground floor, there are two modern shop fronts and a central entrance leading to a flat above. There are later extensions at the back of the building. Nos 12, 16, 18A, 18, 22, 24, 26, and 28 together form a group.
