Description

Quebec Cottages comprise a terrace of four buildings dating from the second quarter of the 19th century. The terrace has two storeys and eight windows. The roofs are hipped and slate-covered, with eaves soffits. The construction is red brick with decorative blue headers. The windows are recessed and have pivoting metal frames with glazing bars. The ground-floor windows are under round, gauged brick arches, with the three central windows set within round arched recesses. Window sills are stone. Canted oriel bay shop fronts, with glazing bars and including doors, were added later to numbers 1 and 4. The doors are of four or six flat panels, with panelled pilasters, a modified entablature, and a cornice hood.
