Description

Mitre Cottage is a 16th-century cottage that stands two storeys high and features two irregularly placed windows. It has a high-pitched tiled roof with a symmetrical central ridge stack. The exterior is weatherboarded, and there are small 19th-century casement windows. A 19th-century gabled wooden porch leads to a plank door. To the right, there is a small lean-to structure. The left side and the rear of the cottage display exposed framing with plaster filling on the first floor, and there is some coursed freestone masonry on the right side. Mitre Cottage and Ashurst Cottage are part of a group of buildings.
