Description

The Rectory is a building located on Fawkham Valley Road, with the front part dating from the early 19th century. It was likely constructed by Dr. Samuel Hemmings, who served as Rector from 1777 to 1828. The back portion of the building may be older, as there is a record of the property in a Terrier from 1634. The structure is two storeys high and is finished in stucco. It features a hipped slate roof and an eaves cornice. On the first floor, there are three sashes with intact glazing bars, while the ground floor has sashes set in tall cambered recesses. The central entrance has a round-headed doorcase in a stuccoed recess, complete with a semi-circular fanlight.
