Description

Pennies Farmhouse is possibly a fragment of the east wing of a large 16th-century house named Pennis, which was demolished in the early 19th century, but it is more likely a late medieval hall-house. The building is timber-framed, refaced with stucco and brick, and is now painted. It has two storeys, with the ground floor stuccoed and the first floor tile hung. There are five modern casement windows. The hipped tiled roof features a gablet at one end. The rear elevation shows some exposed timbering, including a curved brace. Inside, the farmhouse contains exposed beams, including some upright posts with jowls.
