Description
Nos 1 to 3 Leicester Square are a group of buildings with historical significance. No 1 is a mid-19th century link between Wall Cottage and Nos 2 and 3, likely designed by George Devey. It is two storeys high with two windows beneath a gable, featuring a brick and tile-hung front. Nos 2 and 3 date back to the 16th century and have been restored, showcasing plaster-filled vertical timbering and high-pitched tiled roofs. No 3 has an old chimney stack that projects at the west end, while No 2 has a red brick ground floor. Both buildings feature an oversailing first floor. No 2 also has a restored door beneath a bracketed hood, with the framing above being a 19th-century restoration. Together with Wall Cottage, the Archway, the Old Guildhouse, and the Post Office and Retaining Wall, these buildings form a cohesive group.
