Description
This is a 17th-century red brick wall that runs south-south-east from the southern tip of Penshurst Place and then returns eastward. It forms the eastern boundary of the churchyard and continues to connect with the rear walls of No 1 Leicester Square and Wall Cottage. The wall ultimately links with the screen wall to the north of the Gatehouse. This structure is part of a group that includes Penshurst Place, the South Central Tower and Wall, the Southern Wall, the Inner Garden Wall, and the Garden Wall.
