Description
The inner garden wall located to the north and west of the formal garden at Penshurst Place is likely from the early 17th century. It is constructed of brick and features a stone coping along the top. There are stone steps at an angle, and a stone Tudor-arched doorway is set into the north wall. The wall has a break for an entrance tower and continues eastward at a lower level. This wall is part of a group that includes Penshurst Place, the South Central Tower and Wall, the Southern Wall, and the Garden Wall.
