Description

This is a 17th-century house built upon an older timber-framed structure, located in Cowden, near Basing. The house extends over two storeys and has an attic, with four windows. A returned gable is visible on the left side. The roof is tiled and half-hipped, featuring a coupled brick stack and a hipped dormer window in the gable end. A small attic window is positioned in the gable. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is brick, with a plinth of coursed freestone. The windows are diamond-paned casements. A panelled front door is sheltered by an open-pedimented hood with dentil moulding. The roof extends as a lean-to at the rear, covered with stone slates.
