Description

The garden wall surrounding the north, east, and south of Penshurst Place Gardens is a high brick structure dating from the late 18th century. At the southern entrance, there are tall stone-capped piers and wrought iron gates with overthrows. The north entrance features wrought iron gates from 1739, originally from Wingerworth Hall in Derbyshire. This garden wall is part of a group that includes Penshurst Place, the South Central Tower and Wall, the Southern Wall, and the Inner Garden Wall.
