Description
The Vicarage, including Vicarage Cottage, is a building that likely dates from the early 18th century and features a timber frame. In the late 18th century, it was covered in mathematical tiles. Around 1830, the building was extended to the north, and it underwent internal remodeling, with some windows enlarged to square bays. The front of the building now has two storeys and an attic, with three windows in the older section. It has a high-pitched hipped tiled roof that includes two 19th-century dormers. The exterior is finished with red-flecked yellow mathematical tiles and a rendered plinth. There are two 18th-century sash windows and two late 18th-century sash windows, all set in exposed moulded frames, along with one early to mid-19th-century square bay made of yellow brick. The two-storey, two-window extension on the left is also of early to mid-19th-century yellow brick. Inside, there is an attractive curved staircase with cast iron ornamental balusters, and the chimneypieces date from the early to mid-19th-century remodeling.
