Description
Chasedon, formerly known as The Vicarage, is a Grade II listed building dating from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. This two-storey house with an attic features a timber frame that has been clad and extended over time. It has a prominent red tile roof that is hipped at the west end and gabled at the east. The lower roofs over the rearward blocks are also hipped and have brick dentil eaves. A tall chimney stack has a rectangular base with four separate diagonal flues.
The front (south) elevation includes two small gabled dormers with old diagonal leaded casements. The walls are constructed of red brick in English bond, featuring cambered openings and a rubbed flat arch above the central ground-floor opening, which is now a sash window. The east gable displays exposed half-timbering. The west end has a large angular bay window on the ground floor, and the main entrance is located on the north side within a small two-storey extension that is angled.
