Description
The barn at Cold Piece Farm, located to the south of the farmhouse, dates back to the 18th century. It features a six-bay timber frame with low eaves on the north side, supported by posts that create an open aisle. There are two entrances located at the third and sixth bays. The structure includes a queen post truss with straight struts and is topped with a red tile roof, which has a gable (boarded) over one entrance and a hip over the other. The wall frame is bricknogged. Attached at right angles to the west end is a smaller four-bay unit, also timber-framed, with sloping struts extending from the tie-beam to the purlins. This smaller unit has a red tile roof that is half-hipped at the gables, with the upper walls boarded and the lower sections constructed of brickwork.
