Description

The Old Schoolhouse is a pair of early 19th-century cottages, originally symmetrical in design. They have been combined into a single dwelling with later Victorian and modern additions to the rear. The cottages are two stories high, with a porch set between two windows in each section. Each porch has a blank panel above it. The roof is continuous with red tiles and brick dentil eaves, while the walls are painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The windows are good quality, square, and have leaded casements. The Tudor brick porches feature a stepped verge to the gable, a chamfered four-centred arch, columns constructed of patterned brickwork, and plain arched doorways which have now been filled in.
