Description

Westerhill Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse, with alterations and additions dating from the later 18th or early 19th century. The ground floor is built of chequered red and grey brick, while the first floor has exposed framing of thin scantling. It has a plain tile roof, a stone plinth, and a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The roof is half-hipped. A rear stack is located to the left of the centre, and a slightly projecting brick stack is on the right gable end. There are three hipped dormers, each corniced. The front has a regular three-window facade featuring two 16-pane sashes and a central 12-pane sash. A central half-glazed door, with a rectangular fanlight within a panelled recess and up one step, is flanked by Doric pilasters, which were formerly part of a porch. A later two-storey rear addition extends to the left, also with a half-hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
