Description
The Limes is a house located on Lower Road in East Farleigh, dating from the 17th century with 20th-century alterations. It features a timber frame with exposed framing and raised rendered infilling on the ground floor, while the first floor is weatherboarded. The building has a lobby entry plan and stands two storeys high with a garret on a stone plinth. The ground floor has rectangular panelling consisting of two panels per storey, and there is a moulded fillet at the base of the weatherboarding. The roof is half-hipped with a central rendered ridge stack. The front of the house has a regular arrangement of three windows, which are large 2-light leaded metal casements from the late 20th century. The central entrance features a later 20th-century glazed door under a porch, replacing an original door with six fielded panels framed by a moulded architrave and topped with a flat bracketed hood. To the left, there is a timber-framed lean-to. The interior has not been inspected.
