Description

This is a flight of steps located about 20 metres south of Linton Park, dating from around 1825. The steps are made of stone and are approximately 4 metres wide, leading south down a hill from the lower terrace in front of the house. There are about 30 steps, which are separated by two landings. At the top, there is a further landing with about 14 steps leading down at right angles on each side from the lower terrace. A stone retaining wall is present to the north, and a balustrade runs along the south side of these flights, returning to the east and west and extending beyond the gable ends of the house. Stone urns are positioned flanking the landings of the lower flight.
