Description
This is a flight of garden steps located approximately 30 meters south of Pitchford Hall, built in the 1870s or 1880s, likely by George Devey. The steps are made from coursed red sandstone rubble and red sandstone ashlar, featuring three stone steps. Low coped flanking walls border the steps, which have coped square ashlar end piers topped with globe finials. This flight of steps is one of a pair that connects with the steps in the retaining wall next to Pitchford Hall to the south and is part of the terrace retaining wall adjacent to the Hall to the east. It is included for its group value.
