Description

Westbrook is a mid-18th century house, originally built as a pair. It is timber-framed, with exposed framing and plaster infilling. The building comprises three bays, the central bay being longer than the others. It has a plain tile roof and stands on a rendered stone plinth. The timber framing features close-studding of thin scantling with straight tension braces. There are projecting red and grey brick gable end stacks and two small hipped dormers. The front elevation has a regular three-window arrangement of two-light casements with top lights. A panelled door with a top light is located in the central bay of No. 1, and a ribbed door is adjacent in the central bay of No. 2, both under open timber porches. A rendered rear lean-to has been added. The interior has not been inspected.
