Description

This is a 19th-century oast house located about 10 metres east of Kelsham Farmhouse in Hawkenbury. The building features kilns made of red brick in Flemish bond set on coursed stone bases, topped with plain tile roofs. The stowage area is weatherboarded and has a slate roof. There are two circular kilns positioned at the north-west and north-east corners of the rectangular stowage. The kilns have cogged brick eaves cornices, and there are gables above the exposed kiln loading doors. A boarded door leads to the first floor of the stowage, and one of the kilns has a cowl. The interior has not been inspected. This oast house is included for its group value.
