Description

Farm Cottages, located on Old School Lane in Willington, is a 15th-century Wealden hall-house that features a timber frame with plaster infilling. The building has a central section flanked by two projecting wings, with the first floor jettied at the ends supported by protruding floor joists and brackets, and curved braces on the first floor. It has a hipped tiled roof that includes smoke louvres and four casement windows. On the left side, there is a lean-to extension that contains an old bread oven. The right side elevation displays a ground floor made of ashlar stone and a first floor that is tile-hung. Additionally, there is a 17th-century ashlar chimneystack and a triple crown post roof.
