Description
Brogden Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 15th century, with alterations and additions from the 17th century, 19th century, and mid-20th century. The building is timber framed, with the ground floor on the right side clad in roughly-coursed stone and the left side in 20th-century red brick. The first floor is tile-hung, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. The right end bay is from the 15th century, the central section, which probably consists of two timber-framed bays, is from the 17th century, and the left end was added in the mid-20th century. The farmhouse has two storeys, with the right end bay sitting on a stone plinth and featuring an end jetty. The roof is hipped and has very large gablets. There are red brick stacks for the stall at both ends and a multiple red brick stack on the front slope to the left of centre. The windows are irregularly placed, featuring three 20th-century three-light casements. There is a panelled door with two top lights located off-centre to the right, which is sheltered by a 20th-century brick and tile-hung porch. A 17th-century rear wing is located to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
