Description
Nos. 21-25 on High Street in Headcorn is a shop row that dates from the 18th century or earlier, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The ground floor is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, while the first floor is weatherboarded. The right gable end features tile-hanging on the first floor, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. The building has two storeys and a garret, with a hipped roof on the left side and a half-hipped roof on the right. There is a rear stack on the left and a multiple corbelled brick ridge stack to the right of centre. The windows are arranged irregularly, with a total of seven; this includes one three-light and one two-light casement on the left, along with five 12-pane sash windows. The shop front on the left has a central recessed half-glazed door. There is a 20th-century shop front at No. 23 in the centre, and another 20th-century shop front at No. 25 on the right, which features a central ribbed door and a continuous plain frieze. A passage is located at the left end of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
