Description

The war memorial located northwest of the Church of the Holy Cross commemorates those who fell in the First and Second World Wars. It was erected in 1920. The memorial is made of stone and features a decorative cross on an octagonal shaft, which has a carved capital and broach stops at the base. This shaft stands on a square block with chamfered corners and large ornamental broach stops. Dedications are inscribed on the south and west faces of the block. Beneath the block are three octagonal steps, with names inscribed on the risers, and the memorial has a deeply coved octagonal base.
