Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with occasional grey bricks arranged in Flemish bond, topped with a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and attics, standing on a plinth that may have been rebuilt. There is a semi-basement at the left end and a broad plat band around the structure. A moulded wood eaves cornice runs along the top. The right end bay is set back slightly, and there is a brick end stack serving the three left bays. The roof features three flat-roofed dormers from the 19th century. The left section of the building has a regular three-window front with recessed glazing-bar sashes; the central sash has a segmental head, and there is one additional glazing-bar sash in the recessed right bay, all with rubbed brick voussoirs. A central panelled door is located in the left section, accessed by four steps and framed by a recessed panelled architrave. The door features a glazing-bar fanlight, a fluted frieze, and a corniced, bracketed hood. The interior has not been inspected.
