Description

This is a terrace of 38 to 70 Union Street, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. The buildings are two storeys high, constructed of brick, with some sections painted and others stuccoed. The roofs are tiled and have a brick modillion cornice. There is one hipped dormer window on each roof. Most windows are sash windows with intact glazing bars, although some retain only vertical bars. The doorcases generally have flat hoods supported by brackets. Several properties incorporate shopfronts. Numbers 38 to 70 form a cohesive group.
