Description
This is a barn located about 20 metres south of Martins Farmhouse, dating from the 16th century with later alterations. It is timber framed, with the rear (north) elevation showing exposed framing above the midrail. This elevation features two tension braces in the left bay, two arch braces to the east, and brick infilling in the narrower central bay. The rest of the barn is constructed with brick in Flemish bond below the midrail and weatherboarding above. It has a hipped corrugated iron roof and is built at right angles to the road. There are garage doors located below the midrail at the centre of the south side. Although the interior was not inspected, it appears to have gunstock-jowled posts, arch-braced tie-beams, and a collared common rafter roof. The barn is included for its group value.
