Description
This building, located at 1 High Street, was formerly a public house known as 'The Gin Palace.' It dates from the mid-19th century and is three storeys tall, constructed of red brick with a slate roof featuring a bracket eaves cornice. The façade includes four sash windows set within Italianate architraves, and the first-floor windows are adorned with cornices and console brackets. A modern shopfront has been added. The elevation facing Week Street consists of five bays, with three of the first-floor windows featuring three lights. The building is listed for its group value, as it forms part of a group with Nos 1, 3, and 5 to 9 High Street.
