Description
No. 7 High Street is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall and is finished in stucco. It features a hipped tiled roof, cornice, and parapet. The façade includes three sash windows set within moulded architrave surrounds, although the lower halves of the windows are missing their glazing bars. The building has a modern shop front. Although the Gothic remains collected by John Newington Hughes around 1826 are no longer present, the interior contains a niche with a crest and the motto "SPERO MELIORA," which likely dates from the same period. Nos. 1, 3, 5, and 9, which are consecutive, form a group with this building.
