Description
99 and 100 High Street is a 16th-century timber-framed building with a plastered front, now divided into two shops. The second floor overhangs on brackets, and the first floor also overhangs on the side facing Gabriel's Hill, while the ground floor has been underbuilt on the side facing High Street. The building features a half-hipped tiled roof with a wide half-hipped gable facing High Street and two hipped dormers facing Gabriel's Hill. There is a cornice above the second floor. The building has four storeys, with two windows facing High Street and two windows facing Gabriel's Hill. The second floor has two triple sash windows, while the first floor includes one canted bay window and one three-light window with a reeded band above. The shopfronts are modern, and there is a medieval undercroft. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 93 to 95, 97A, and 98 to 100.
