Description
The Mount is a 16th-century brick house that was rebuilt from the eaves level upwards in the 19th century. It has a cruciform shape with an 18th-century and a 19th-century wing on the western arm. The original moulded stone doorway is located on the east side and is slightly projecting, though it has been rendered. There are blocked round-headed windows on the return, and the windows are mullioned with leaded lights. The house features a tiled roof with three shaped gables and stone finials, along with a central chimney stack that has three shafts. Inside, there are remains of a 16th-century oak staircase above the entrance.
