Description

Nos 36 and 38 form a shop with a dwelling, dating to the 15th century as a timber-framed hall house, with a 16th-century brick chimney stack added in the centre. The facade has been altered: the ground floor has been refaced and cement rendered, while the first floor is now weatherboarded. A recessed addition exists at the west end, featuring a rendered facade and red brick at the rear, along with a single-story, modern slate-roofed addition at the rear. The main roof is tiled, with a hipped east end and a gablet. Significant original timberwork remains visible inside. The shop front is of plate glass, and elsewhere, sash windows contain glazing bars.
