Description

The Close is a 16th and 17th century brick house that has been significantly modernised. It features a tiled roof with stepped gable ends and a north cross wing that creates an L-shaped plan. A large chimney stack is located over the end gable, which has four moulded circular flues with moulded bases. The house is two storeys high with an attic. The windows are a mix of 19th century and modern casements. On the west side, there is a doorway that is not in its original position; it includes a 16th century moulded doorcase and door, along with a 16th century, four-centred arch door frame set within a modern porch.
