Description
Thornby Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a mid-20th century addition on the right. The front is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, while the left gable end features English bond. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a double depth design with two storeys set on a rendered plinth. The hipped roof has hips that return, along with three rear hips. There is a brick stack at the former gable end on the right and a small rear stack on the left. The windows have an irregular arrangement, consisting of four recessed 16-pane sashes on the main range, a regular three-window front, and a single sash on the addition. The ground floor windows are adorned with painted splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. The main range features a half-glazed door at the center, topped with a flat hood supported by paired Ionic modillions. The interior has not been inspected.
